TAWC is promoting wellness and offering consultation around normal issues that
adoptive and other complex families face.
Founded by Dr. Joyce Maguire Pavao,TAWC focuses on the normative issues faced by adoptive families and families
formed by reproductive technologies, kinship, step parenting, and other complex
situations.
TAWC provides both face-to-face consultation and phone consultation
for birth families, adoptive families, adult adoptive persons, and others who are
connected to the world of adoption, legally or emotionally. TAWC also does its
well known '50 thousand mile check ups,' created by Dr. Joyce Maguire Pavao in
1978, and provides assessments and recommendations for families around school
related matters and other normative developmental stages that are faced by
families created by adoption.
Additionally, TAWC offers baby massage classes for new parents, meditation/yoga practices, stress reduction techniques for
children and parents, plus much more. All services are available for individuals
and couples who are thinking of adoption.

Play with Reality
Be a writer! Be a producer! Tell people what they need to know about you and others like you! Be an actor!
Play with Reality year-long performance group for teens and young adults in adoption, foster care, and other complex blended families. The final product is a PLAY that will answer this important question for teens and young adults: What do you want people to understand about you that they just don't get?
The Play with Reality team will learn about presenting and speaking, and will have expert training in performing arts, script writing, production, and technical aspects of theatre.
The team will meet weekly in a safe environment with staff from CFFC and three visiting actors/directors/scriptwriters.
The final play will go on tour, locally at schools, and possibly nationally and internationally at conferences. After the play, the audience will be able to ask questions-to the character and then to the actor about creating the character and then about the actor him/herself.
