Dear CFFC Friends:
Children are
our heart. We should cherish them and make their world as safe, interesting,
and fun as we possibly can. It is the job of every adult-not just
the child's family-to contribute to the education, health, and well
being of the children who are our future.
We do this through personal connections to the children in our extended
family and our community whom we know and love, and we do it for the
children we do not know by paying taxes and voting to give children
all that they need to grow and become our world leaders. We also contribute
by supporting the programs and places that are working to make the
lives of children and families better.
Center For Family Connections (CFFC), incorporated as a non-profit
eight years ago and a 501 (c) 3 freestanding entity, has been serving
the people who live and work in the world of adoption (as well as
foster care, kinship, guardianship, reproductive technologies, and
blended families) through its PACT (Pre/Post Adoption Consulting Team)
program for over 25 years. It has been a challenging and rewarding
experience.
We have more than tripled our operating budget and have quadrupled
our requests for services. As we enter yet another stage of growth,
now more than ever, we need your support in order to accommodate all
who need our services and pioneering programs. We are asking for your
help in order to help others. We need funds to support and expand
existing programs and to develop new ones.
Our work touches a large population of extended family and professionals.
A survey by the Evan B. Donaldson Institute in New York states that
approximately 53% of the population in the USA has been touched by
adoption! The families we serve (approximately 1,100 new families
per year) come to CFFC because they are misdiagnosed, misunderstood,
and often hurt by the lack of professional expertise in the field
of adoption/foster care and complex family issues. Although some of
the families and children we work with are able to pay for needed
services, an increasing number are not. The specialized training of
our team gives families the hope and tools they need to remain healthy,
strong, and connected.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
We both need and appreciate your help, and there are many ways you
can contribute. You can donate money that will be put to immediate
use, act as a liaison between CFFC and foundations/corporations that
care about the lives of children and families, and/or contribute operational
supplies. All of these donations are tax deductible.
On behalf of the families we serve, we thank you for being a Family
Friend of CFFC.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joyce Maguire
