What We Do

Meeting people where they are

We run programs designed to meet people where they are

Kinnect is an Ohio-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring permanent families for all children in the shortest time possible, and connecting those families with individualized support to meet their unique needs. We do this through a range of programs — including Kinnect to Family, OhioKAN, and more — that focus on urgent family search and engagement, kinship and post-permanency support, and systems change rooted in a KinFirst approach.

OhioKAN

Support for Kinship and Adoptive Families

OhioKAN is a flexible and responsive kinship and adoption navigator program designed to assist children, caregivers, and families statewide.

Kinnect to Family

Helping Youth Stay Connected to Kin

KTF uses urgent family search and engagement to identify kin—both biological and chosen—who can provide stability and support for youth in care.

YNN

Empowering Youth to Shape Their Journey

At Youth Navigator Network (YNN), we are focused on connecting young people who are in or have been in foster care to key resources and supports.

YCPRT

Placing Youth at the Center of Permanency Planning

YCPRT engages young people in shaping their own permanency plans, giving them a voice in decisions about their future.

We also run a nationwide program geared toward family and young people serving professionals known as KinnectU.

KinnectU offers comprehensive training, consulting, and program replication services designed to strengthen families and promote a KinFirst culture. Our KinnectU training programs equip professionals, organizations, and communities with the skills, tools, and knowledge needed to improve kinship care, family preservation, and youth support services.
