OhioKAN Rated “Supported” by the federal Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse

We are excited to share a milestone. What began in 2018 as a big vision for supporting kinship and adoptive families across Ohio is now federally recognized: OhioKAN has been rated “Supported” by the federal Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse. Through this program, we serve thousands of families across all 88 of Ohio’s counties, and this recognition opens the door for kinship and adoptive families nationwide to access early-stage, proactive navigator services that connect them to resources and direct, one-on-one help.

The “Supported” rating validates what we have seen for more than 20 years: when families get the right support early, everyone benefits. Children are more likely to stay connected to family, youth are less likely to enter foster care, and the web of community, connection, and culture grows.

OhioKAN is possible because of many partners: the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Chapin Hall, Kaye Implementation and Evaluation, our site partners across the state, our Regional and State Advisory members, and our county partners. Congratulations and thanks to our staff and navigators, and to every kinship and adoptive family who reached out for support.
